Fall is around the corner, and with it comes return to routine, new rhythms, and a fresh calendar! Maybe you find yourself in a new season—navigating kids starting school for the first time, getting settled into a new college class schedule, or adjusting to retirement with more time on your hands. While there are a lot of great opportunities at The Crossing to jump into, it may be overwhelming to find just the right fit.

Here is a helpful guide to what’s going on throughout the fall at The Crossing this year:

1. Summer Nights | The Crossing’s 25 Year Celebration

WHAT: Summer Nights is a favorite night of the year for our church! We look forward to this church-wide gathering in The Crossing's courtyard with food trucks, activities, and an outdoor worship service.

This year, we’re celebrating 25 years together with a special night to celebrate how God has been faithful to our church over the years and in the lives of people in our church. And don’t miss special one-night-only Crossing merch being sold at the celebration.

WHEN:

2. Newcomer’s Gathering

WHAT: If you are new to The Crossing, the Newcomer’s Gathering is a great opportunity to meet church staff and hear more about all the different ministries that make up our church community. This is a great next step in finding your place to grow and serve and for learning how to become a member of our church.

WHEN:

3. Small Groups

WHAT: Fall is a great time to join a group that meets regularly throughout the year. Whether you’re out of college and in your twenties, or an adult hoping to connect with others in your phase of life, these groups are the best way to go deeper with a smaller community of others.

WHEN:

Small Group Previews are the first step to learn about and join a group:

  • Small Group Previews on Sundays: August 10, 17, 24 at 9:45 a.m. Learn More
  • Twenties Previews: August 17 at 11 a.m. and August 26 at 6 p.m. Learn More

Small groups are also available to older students in Crossing Kids and Crossing Students:

4. Veritas

WHAT:  College is a pivotal time to make connections and decisions that will shape the rest of your life. Between weekly meetings, small groups, and mission trips, Veritas is a thriving community for college-aged adults. Veritas meets on Tuesday nights in The Crossing’s auditorium for a weekly service. Tuesday nights are the first step to meeting other students and getting involved with our college community at The Crossing.

WHEN:

5. Women's and Men's Studies

WHAT: Women’s and Men’s Studies come in all different forms: lunch studies, daytime and evening options, and other one-time events like book discussions and movie nights. There are a variety of opportunities to learn something new, have meaningful conversations, and get to know other men or women in a smaller setting.

WHEN:

6. Men’s Breakfast and Men’s Fall Retreat

WHAT: Crossing Men is hosting a special breakfast with pastor and author Dr. Derwin Gray to discover how we can develop a heart for the people God has placed in our lives. And, if you're looking for a short weekend getaway, try the Men’s Fall Retreat to move your heart and mind into new depths of relationship with Jesus and other men.

WHEN:

7. Twenties Connect | Sunday Class

WHAT: Twenties Connect is a Sunday morning class that meets throughout the Fall! Come study the Bible, discuss relevant issues, and hear from guest speakers. Twenties Connect is a great way to connect with others in their twenties every Sunday morning during third service!

WHEN:

  • Sundays, beginning September 14 | Learn More
  • Twenties Fall Kick Off at The Kitchen | Sign Up

8. Real Parenting | Sunday Class

WHAT: No matter what stage you’re in, parenting is not easy. Fortunately, we have two professional counselors leading a 6-week class on Sunday mornings this fall. You will learn what your child needs for each stage of development, and how you can navigate the challenges that come with parenting. The hope is that you will walk away trusting more deeply in God's grace for yourself and your children.

WHEN:

  • Sunday mornings at 11 a.m. beginning September 14 | Sign Up

9. Take Time to Serve

WHAT: Crossing Kids needs volunteers like you to help make Sunday morning possible. And our Care Ministry has a robust list of teams that serve various needs in our church and around our community. You may have time or gifts to serve others in ways you didn’t realize you could—from making meals to sharing encouragement, manual labor, prayer, and more.

HOW:

10. There’s a Group for You

WHAT: Maybe you’ve found yourself in an unexpected situation, a hard diagnosis, or feel really alone in an ongoing hardship. The last thing anyone wants you to experience is isolation. The Crossing has a variety of Care groups that you may not know about. From divorce and grief to chronic illnesses – it’s hard to struggle alone. We hope these smaller groups are a place to connect with others in an otherwise challenging season.

HOW:

Whether you’re hoping to grow deeper alongside others, looking for a group to invest in, or begin serving more regularly, various things are beginning this fall that help a large church become smaller. As you take the next step toward getting involved, relationships will develop, and The Crossing will feel more intimate every step you take.
