What to Expect at the Magic Tree in 2025

Written by Julie Sexten | Nov 25, 2025

The Magic Tree has become a must-see tradition during the Christmas holiday season. Now in its 9th year, the 85-foot Sycamore tree at The Crossing in Columbia, Missouri will once again shine with over 8 miles of dazzling LED lights. The Crossing’s Magic Tree is a gift to our community—a chance to create traditions, celebrate the season, and share the joy of Christmas together.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Join us on Friday, November 28, 2025, starting at 5:00 p.m., for the official lighting of the Magic Tree. This year, the lighting will begin in the sky with a Christmas-themed drone show and countdown at 5:30 p.m. Bring a chair or blanket and gather with family and friends to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the season, including free kettle corn, hot chocolate, and Christmas music.

Visit All Season Long

As always, if you can’t make the lighting ceremony (or even if you did!), the Magic Tree will glow every evening from 5–10 p.m. through the first week of January. It’s the perfect place to pause, take photos, and make holiday memories. The magic never gets old, so stop by anytime and experience the magic tree up close!
